I think as the holidays come to a close.
I would like to keep my memories as a rose.
Okay that didn't really make much sense,
Making things rhyme is really not for the dense!
In all I think this was my best days ever...
By best I mean happiest and thankfulliest forever!
I had my family to play fight but still love,
And friends to laugh hug and be loved :)
Children to cuddle and kiss...
That I certainly sorely miss.
Camps and sleepovers which were great fun!
Blood donations from which I tried to run...
I had the chance to play the flute and piano,
To serve as leader/facilitator/puppeteer, ohhh
And to attempt the previously thought impossible
Baking cookies that do not crumble...(or blow up my kitchen haha)
Celebrate Christmas more meaningfully by sharing
A gospel so awesome, so beautiful, so stunning!
Thank you dear God for Your boundless grace,
Your love and care that many others have yet to taste,
So make me an instrument of Your will,
Humble me so that I may yield,
Something more precious than treasure:
My life testifying to You forever!

Blessed CHRISTmas!
Happy Birthday Jesus! :)

First miracle of the season:
Vera baked cookies! (her first and probably her last)
Second miracle:
She didn't blow up anything!

I really like giving stuff I make/bake myself because people will come back to tell me that they are very nice! (Liqun said my cookies are nicer than famous amos!) Of course! Haha jk. And thanks for all the presents! :) And I realised I love keeping stuff that people make/buy because I know that precious time and feelings were invested in it. And I really like the sleepover!!! Auntie Grace makes fantastic don pie and the wii game is so lame!!! I really love Yiling Yien Liqun Hannah! Hannah made me laugh in the night cause I thought she was playing hide and seek with me. Okay. That came out weird! This is one of my favourite christmasses ever! I wish I could relive this few days again!

I had a sudden thought when I was wondering about what I wanted to give Jesus today, and I thought that I wanted Jesus to eat my cookies! Does it sound silly? Haha. He probably already knows what they taste like. And was probably looking down from heaven to make sure nothing blew up in the kitchen haha.

I think it is fitting that the birthday of our Saviour should be filled with such joy and laughter!

A blue, blue sky

I looked up to see the sky today.
Not that I haven't seen it before.
But I was so mesmerized by how blue it was.
Not that I don't know that the sky is blue. Usually.
It was just so blue, so beautiful,
I had to stop and marvel at God's creation.

What am I giving God this christmas?

1 John 3:16
We know love by this, that He laid down His life for us; and we ought to lay down our lives for our bethren.

Fascinating, that this is God's love for us. So vast it cannot be written, not if the sky were a scroll, the ocean full of ink, and every man a scribe by trade. I can't even express the significance it has to me; I feel like gushing to someone how an almighty God loves me so much and is looking down on me whenever and wherever I am!

Every Christmas is like a renewal to me, and a reminder of how urgent and important it is that I need to tell others of this love I have experienced. Testify to love.

Celebrate Christmas in Singapore was a wonderful way of sharing the true meaning of Christmas. I paired up with Cara and we mostly gave out the booklets and postcards, saying blessed christmas with a smile I only reserve for strangers haha. Anyway, we had the chance to take a Korean group for the tour!!! Haha. Cara and I were like praying for one, and true enough, God sent us not one, not two, but five!!! Though there was a bit of a language barrier, and the music was overpowering, I think its brilliant that we got to share to that group, and they did seem interested! One girl I talked to actually attends church but is not a Christian, yet I can sense like she's willing. Cara and I prayed for willing and open hearts, and hopefully the followup will help her along this path.

We also talked to this Indian man and another girl about the gospel. The girl was very patient with us I think haha, even as we fumbled here and there, and the Indian guy actually had a very interesting viewpoint, saying that since they followed the 'Christian' calendar, they should also pray to God, like honour him. So he attends both church and the temple. I wonder.

I'm doing again tomorrow! May God guide me in His will!

Do Rei Mi Fa So La Ti Do

I thank God for all the opportunities to play piano for Him! It's an honour really, even if I do fret and worry and panic and vomit over every worship. Even when I played for four worships in camp, I think the practices were good experiences for me, even if they were not always the most pleasant, and playing for Camp Afterglow was a disaster (sorry hannah! :p). Anyway, I took advantage of my self-imposed depression to hug people afterwards muhahaha.

I can't explain it. As much as I wring my hands and lament that I did a horrendous job, I love the feeling of playing for God, that I can use my inept skill at this lovely instrument to glorify (hopefully) Him. But I do wish that I can play better quickly so that I can serve Him more greatly. And I do owe those who have been encouraging me when I've been stumbling, faltering, tripping-over-my-own-feet while on this path. I think I exasperate a lot of people like Liqun, Hannah, Yien, Yiling, Samuel etc. Sorry!

Dear God, please always help me to remember that You're the only one I should be playing for, and that these fingers you have given me are a dedicated, abeit small, instrument of Your will! May my hands and heart worship you forever and more.

It was on the most beautiful of days that I saw her. The sun was smiling, not the fierce, intense kind, but a longing, almost yielding gaze. We were on the roof, where even the moss was the most gentle of greens, velvet to the touch beneath us. Why was I up there? The chimney cast a casual shade over us as we sat in the absence of sounds. Why was she up there? Wait, a charmingly broken melody wove its way past us, probably from some little tike tinkering on blackwhites. Whiteblacks. Whiteblackwhite. In that clear turqoise of clouds I saw a ship. The romantic, lake-cruising type, mind you. It sailed by on pure sunlight before coming to stop round the corner. Byebye.

Poofing Pants

My brilliant brother and I have just had a shouting match. Apparently, when he kneels down, his pants do something amazing!!! And NOO. They do not fold, they do not even split. Wonders of wonders, they INFLATE! And it is so very astounding and utterly rare that his sister just HAS TO SEE IT.

My problem isn't with the fact that his pants suck air into themselves everytime he kneels down. It's more to do with him screaming hysterically for me to come see his pants poof! It went something like this...

Ernest: Zhei, come see! Come see!! My pants INFLATE!!! *screams and laughs hysterically*
Me: Oh really. Wonderful. *ignoring*
Ernest: You must COME SEE!!! I'll do it again for you!!! Come SEE!!!!!!
Me: I don't really want to. As you can see, I'm busy at the computer.
Ernest: NO YOU MUST COME SEE!!!
Me: NO I DONT WANT TO!!!

After ten minutes of perpetual shrieking and yelling, we were reduced to inarticulate blobs of high decibel sounds.

Ernest: PLEASEEEEEECOMEEEEEESEEEEEEE!!!
Me: NOOOIWONTIWONTIWONTIWONT!!!
Ernest: YOUUUUMUSTREALLLLLLYCOMESEEEEE!!!!JUSTSEEE!!!
Me: NOIWONTWHATAREYOUGOINGTODOABOUTIT!!!!
Ernest: OMG. I must take a video of myself doing it! Then you can see me do it!
Me: DONT YOU EVEN DARE TO TAKE MY PHONE!

I give up. What with this insanity, and I still have piano lesson and band practice nonstop for seven hours tomorrow. Helpppp haha. Hopefully it'll be fun tomorrow! And I found during camp booklet making that our church office owns the slowest printer in the world. I was thinking of putting pics but it'll spoil the surprise for the campers! Caution: Highly Flammable is going to rock! Pray hard that God will use this camp mightily for YZ.
